Janus are proud to announce the start on site of the new Perry Barr Depot for National Express West Midlands. The Contractor, BAM, took possession of the site in August 2021 and have commenced works with completion expected in Summer 2022.

Janus are the original designers developing the specialist brief with the client. The project is being taken forward and procured under a Design and Build Contract with BAM. The facility comprises maintenance workshop, servicing facility and ancillary office accommodation.

Once complete, the project will have the capacity to park, service and maintain up to 180 buses and be a replacement for the existing depot on Wellhead Lane. The facility will eventually be capable of accommodating a full fleet of electric buses which is part of the National Express commitment to zero emission fleet by 2030.
