Janus Architecture have designed a new fuel and wash lane at First Bus Halifax site.
A purpose-built steel framed building was designed to provide adequate acoustic attenuation to allow the new wash to run long into the night without disturbing local residents. The new wash building not only houses dedicated areas for fuelling and washing of the depots circa 90 bus fleet, but also has a built in chassis wash facility that can be used in the daytime, which the overall building foot print on the site.
As part of the larger amalgamation plans, the works also included the demolition of the adjacent Skircoat Road Depot, releasing the site for redevelopment.
